Most people with any semblance of an active life usually stay away from
MTV Roadies - the Indian version of
MTV Road Rules ( though head-honcho Raghu Ram vehemently maintains that he "created" it). That the show is of, for and by people whose sorry little lives are pretty much limited to the confines of the show itself was brought to my notice recently. A friend of mine directed me to
this page at www.mtvindia.com.
Here is the abysmal truth of the matter:

Assam is a CITY???!!!! Boys, get back to school or watch Lola GK on Channel V.

This further proves how much they know about the country and the NE in particular..
I have experienced such ignorance many a times. So the separatists do have a point here.
once, somebody asked me one of my friend in Delhi if Northeast is all covered with jungle, my friednd replied,"yes! Infact we had to ride a rhinoceros to get to school....lol...keep walkig!!!
Hey Sujoy, I've had similar experiences too. It's unbelievable but in a certain Indian city, people have even asked if Assam is a part of India! :D Shocking isn't it? And this was in 2005.
By the way, nice blog! I'll add you to my blog list :)
Cheers!
MTV roadies is a bad show. they should stop airing it.
@voice of silence & Bhargav
Sometimes it really puts me in deep anguish but then I realise that other big countries face it too. During the time when the US of A still used snail mail lots of letters to Hawaii were sent with foreign postage.
And thanks Bhargav.
@zendagi migzara
As I said "people with any semblance of an active life" dont watch MTV Roadies.
Good observation!:-)
And, people are so obsessed about this program...Do you watch it?
I would rather watch "Ramgopal Verma Ki Aag" than watch a handful of nincompoops do whatever it is that they do on that show.
ahh!! Now I got it! the comments link! Thanks.. your site design is appropriate for the type of posts you put up... I was only missing the comments link.
As for media? Well they are all dumb and play for TRPs!
Here is a link to my other blog.. a different one for my office.

and you will be laughing at the interview of a Delhi Power Plant...!!
Yup, I read that. Dimwits all of them. Wonder what is the selection criteria for news correspondents?
Kichu Na... just be a glib talker I guess...!! haha!
made by morons,for the morons of the world
Glad to know that you have a similar view. You could have mentioned your name, it would be an honour to know a like-minded fellow (if, of course, you are not Dina B)
Advise for an updated atlas.
Poetry
Methinks they cannot even locate their city on the said atlas
